All shoot the same IMO. I look more for what “buba” gun smith has “fixed” on them more than I look for any real storage, handling issues they might have obtainined from any previous military owner. Since SKS’s were are sorta so cheap for so many years some befell the horrors of “customization”. Just look for a good clean example. I try and find them as close to military spec as I can. You can fiddle with it all you want after you get it, knowing that somebody else hasn’t already screwed it up hels a lot.

True tula made SKS’s are real gems as well but they are getting harder to find in good shape. If you get an Albanian you might have some issues with the gas cut off feature for the grenade launcher but these are easily sorted out and new US made parts are available for the valve assembly.

The SKS is a good buy regardless of which nation of origina it comes from. They come in a “rifle” and “paratrooper” length barrels and are a real pleasure to shoot. I bought mine in
